Temp My Love!

Today I completed a project I've been meaning to do for months! I am so excited! I love having a break from school, even if it is only 3 weeks long, as it seems the projects that have piled up are finally getting done! YAY!

So, forever ago, I found the most magnificent pendant for my dining area. Gold scroll-ey (I'm sure that's not a word but I don't care) metal awesomeness! It's from World Market and the minute I saw it, I knew it was meant to be. Especially because it was priced amazingly! You know me, I can't pass up that deal! The outside is gold and the inside was painted teal. I LOVED the color combo but when I got it home, put the bulb in it, and turned it on, the light it emitted was...unfortunately...disappointing. It was super dark. So dark that the gold looked almost black. Wah-wah (that was the sound of letdown I heard in my head).

At this point, my crazy took over. Most people would return it but not I. I just resolved to fix it. I was finally able to do that today. I painted the inside white and...drumroll please...SUCCESS!!! You can't really tell from the photos but it completely fixed the problem! It looks awesome! At this point, you are still only getting tidbits of the apartment because I don't want to show you until it's done. Get excited! :)

Here is the pendant before:

And here it is now:

It's SO much better now! And it makes the BEST light pattern on the wall, which the photo just does NOT do justice. Can't wait to show you more completed projects. Love you!!!
